Access and Policies
VBCF ProTech is a facility, staffed by academics and technicians, with users from many VBC-based research institutes, external academic institutions and industry. We offer either services or training sessions to a listed instrument park.
Information for users
All initial and general enquiries should be addressed to our ticketing system (for registered users) or to ProteinTechnologies@vbcf.ac.at (for non registered users). Initial contact will usually be followed by a meeting with an appropriate staff member to discuss the experimental approach, sample requirements, and whether training or supervision is needed. From there, new users will be prompted to register to our platforms according to the guidelines available here.
VBCF ProTech rules
Each user of our facility has to comply with some basic rules regarding the booking system, training, good laboratory practices, etc. These are specifically summarised here.
Booking
Once access is approved after obligatory training, users may book an instrument using our online booking system. Please ensure you confirm staff availability if you will require support.
Consumables
The facility is well stocked with tubes, tips, cuvettes, gloves. Reagents for amide coupling (EDC/NHS) are available in single-use frozen aliquots. The facility stocks a range of chips, and capillaries that can be purchased. However, users must bring their own buffers, pipettes, and any specialised reagents.
